Therapeutic feeding education was held in Belgrade

On 6th and 7th of June 2017 there was training in Therapy Feeding at the Center for Protection of Infants, Children and Youth in Belgrade. The education was provided by Dubravko Jurišić, working therapist and Diana Korunić, a speech therapist. Education included a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part included monitoring the developmental milestones of oral motor development, the causes of eating and drinking difficulties in children with developmental disadvantages as well as all the essential assumptions and therapeutic approaches for safe and effective feeding.
The practical part was simulation workshop of various feeding techniques, as well as analyzing direct video footage with clients. The direct intervention of  therapeutic feeding approach in working with children was also observed, which encouraged quality and productive discussion among the participants and educators.
