Training held in Armenia

From 13 to 17 October 2014, employees of the Day Center for Rehabilitation Mali dom-Zagreb Martina Celizić, Diana Korunić and Senada Jagar held a training in Gyumri, Armenia.
Participants were introduced to topics such as Sensory approach to the curriculum, Early communication, and the program was concluded with a workshop on creating an Individual Educational Plan.
Education was held in Gyumri "​​Children's Home" and was attended by 25 members of staff  as well as staff from similar institutions in Yerevan, Kharberd Orphanage and Marie Izmirlyan. 

This training was held as part of a four-year cooperation between Mali dom-Zagreb, Perkins International and Gyumri "​​Children's Home". Built in 1924, Gyumri "​​Children's Home" is an institution for children 0 -7 years old with intellectual and physical disabilities, without parental care. 

In the period from 2011 to 2014, Mali dom-Zagreb conducted series of seminars and workshops, and this one being the last in the series included a Certificate presentation ceremony, attended by the director of Mali dom Darija Udovičić MahmuljinDennis Lolli – Perkins International's regional coordinator for Europe and Eurasia, and the director of Gyumri "​​Children's Home" Ruzanna Avagyan.

Multi-annual visits of experts from Mali dom gave participants theoretical and practical knowledge needed to create programs to work with children with visual impairment and additional developmental disabilities or deaf-blind, with specific title: "Holistic approach to curriculum development for MDVI and DB children". 

Ceremony also served to express thanks to all the participants, satisfaction with the cooperation so far and a desire to maintain future collaboration.
